Rainy Trip

Well, as usual it rained most of the time while we were in Port A to celebrate the 4th of July. However, we did not let that slow us down. Montgomery participated in the Piggy Perch Fishing Contest - he caught 9 on the first day and 3 the next. It poured the whole time they fished on day one, but the weather was better for day two. We played at the park and went swimming again at the port A community pool. The rain put a little bit of a damper on our plans, but it was certainly nice to get away - just the 4 of us - and have some time just to simply be together. We are very blessed to have the beach house and the times we spend there are ones that we will always cherish. (So a great BIG THANKS goes out to my mom!) Chad and I get to go again next week - just the two of us!!!! - to celebrate our 10th anniversary. It should be lots of fun. Hopefully it won't rain on us so much.
This is not a super great picture, but it does show that Bennett had a good time too playing at the park. We had not been there before, but it is certainly some place we will take the kids again. It was nice to get them out of the house and let them run around. The view of the pier and boats going by was nice. I also like this picture of Bennett because it looks like she might actually have a little bit of curl in her hair - maybe it won't be as straight as mine. I can hope; can't I?

One last thing I would like to share is that some of you may have heard me mention before that Bennett HATES the car seat. She's good for a quick trip to HEB or Target, but if she has to be in the seat for more than say 20 minutes, she has these momentary "freak outs" where she does everything she can to try and get herself out of the seat. It is funny and frustrating all at the same time. When Chad and I are driving to Port A or any long trip, we take turns managing her while whoever is driving gets to wear headphones and listen to music. Hopefully soon she will be able to watch a movie with her own headphones - like her big brother. But for now, it's a bit torturous on us to take long trips with her. Enjoy the show! Try to tolerate it for the full one minute video. Just imagine 3 hours of this!
